I just wrote a post about my aunt and mentor Jessica Rose so it seemed right that this week I share a picture of her pliers. This is the tool she used to design and make jewelry, as well as to build her sculptures.
The way that I work involves using a range of pliers and cutters so I'm always putting them down and picking them up, but she did everything with the one pair.
These nondescript pliers helped to create a whole lot of beauty.
I have strong feelings about many of the tools I use. As a maker, these tools are almost as meaningful to me as the things I make. I created #toolsontuesday to keep up the practice of sharing stories about the tools we use and live with.⠀
